台塑越鋼賠償無下落 越南人民又遭警暴力
我要賠償我要魚，不要包庇、不要暴力

Formosa Vietnam: not only the victims get no compensation for the damage but they are brutalized by the police!

3月15日上午十點，多位越南移工、天主教新竹教區越南外勞配偶辦公室、環境法律人協會、人權公約施行監督聯盟、台灣人權促進會等團體及個人來到越南經濟文化辦事處召開記者會，針對去年四月台塑河靜越鋼廠汙染導致眾多魚群暴斃發生後，受害的越南中部人民及失業的漁民卻遲遲未得到補償，以及2月14日由義安省天主教神父阮廷淑帶領民眾至河靜省遞交對台塑的訴訟文件卻遭警方毆打的事件【補充1】，要向越南政府提出抗議。

針對2月14日是件，越南政府至今仍未向任何受傷民眾道歉，亦未針對警察暴力事件進行相關調查，故我們嚴厲譴責國家公權力箝制人民的暴力行為，並嚴正要求越南政府應找出2月14日攻擊民眾的兇手，給予其法律處分，同時針對流血事件與合理賠償提出官方聲明，回應受害民眾心聲，切勿沉默以對。

屆時會有多位來自越南中部省份的漁工，到場說明越鋼汙染事件對當地人民之影響，主辦單位也將提供阮廷淑神父的最新聲明影片供媒體參閱。

【補充1】
2017年2月14日，越南中部受害人民針對台塑公司及中鋼公司投資之台塑越南河靜鋼鐵廠的汙染事件進行示威遊行，抗議台塑對於受害者始終不聞不問。然抗議民眾前往當地法院途中，卻遭到國家機器使用暴力對待，造成多位民眾流血受傷。其中，去年曾經來台訪問且在立院記者會提供親身見證的阮廷淑神父，也在抗議過程中受到警察攻擊而受傷。事發一個月至今，隸屬於越南政府的官方媒體，指控阮廷淑神父是帶頭引發暴動的人士，甚至還誣陷阮廷淑神父毆打警察，明顯與事實不符。

On February 14, 2017, the Vietnamese people were heading to the court to launch a claim for compensation for the marine disaster caused by Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation, a subsidiary of the Taiwanese firm Formosa Plastics. Among them was catholic priest Father Nguyen Dinh Thuc who came to Taiwan last December and was received by lawmakers in the Parliament. Though they were totally pacific, the police brutally repressed them. So far, the Vietnamese government has not apologized to the victims of this shocking bloodshed, nor has it made any investigation on this incident. We strongly condemn the act of violence against the people in peaceful rally and urge the Vietnamese government to conduct the investigation on the wrongful doing by the police.

On March 15th, Taiwanese and Vietnamese NGOs will hold a press conference in front of the Vietnamese Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei. Five fishermen from the central Vietnamese province will give testimony that,.due to the marine disaster caused by Formosa, the local people have suffered drastically with no choices but leaving the region.

We call on the Vietnamese representative office to convey the demand from civic groups to the Vietnamese government to investigate the attack and hold the perpetrators accountable.
