各位媒體朋友：

從今(2023)年10月7日開始，以色列政府以討伐少數恐怖份子為名，向加薩人民進行報復性的轟炸。直至目前為止，已造成 12,000 多人的死亡，當中三分之一為兒童。以色列對加薩醫院、學校、避難所的轟炸持續至今，每一次轟炸都會造成至少數十人死亡；在 10 月 17 日對一間醫院的轟炸中，甚至造成 500 人喪生。當下的加薩，正面臨嚴重的人道主義危機。

無論以色列政府發動轟炸的原因為何，其軍隊的所作所為，特別是對兒童、記者、醫護人員及障礙者的屠殺，已嚴重違反國際法，以色列軍隊炸毀清真寺、教堂、醫院、學校、難民營等針對平民的行動，是嚴重的戰爭罪行。

我們是一群身處台灣、來自各地的關心以巴衝突的普通人。為了終止加薩變成大型墳場，我們決定響應全球各地的行動。在馬來西亞、印尼、巴基斯坦、孟加拉、斯里蘭卡、伊拉克、黎巴嫩、摩洛哥、葉門、英國、美國、西班牙、荷蘭、奧地利、義大利、瑞典、丹麥、土耳其、希臘等地，都有要求衝突各方必須立即停火的示威或遊行。我們也將前往以色列台北辦事處抗議，向以色列辦事處遞交請願信。

我們希望讓以色列聽到來自台灣的抗議之聲，也希望台灣社會不再在國際社會的和平與正義議題上沉默。

Beginning on October 7th, 2023, the Israeli Government has been carrying out a retaliatory bombardment against the people of Gaza in the name of fighting a minority of terrorists. So far, more than 12,000 people have been killed, one-third of them children. The Israeli bombardment of Gaza’s hospitals, schools, and shelters continues to this day, with each bombing causing at least dozens of deaths; on October 17th, the bombing of a hospital even killed 500 people. Gaza is now facing a serious humanitarian crisis.

Regardless of the reasons for the Israeli government’s bombing, the actions of the Israel Defense Forces, especially the massacre of children, journalists, healthcare workers and disabled people, are serious violations of international law. The IDF’s actions against civilians, such as bombing mosques, churches, hospitals, schools, refugee camps, etc., are serious war crimes.

We are a group of ordinary people in Taiwan from all over the world who are concerned about the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. In order to stop Gaza from becoming a mass grave, we decided to join the actions happening around the globe, where hundreds of demonstrations and marches are calling for an immediate ceasefire between the parties to the conflict. We will soon go to the Israel Office in Taipei to protest and submit a petition.

We hope that Israel will hear the voices of protest from Taiwan, and that Taiwanese society will no longer be silent on the issue of peace and justice in the international community.
